Banan Temple, Battambang. It looks a bit blurry as the three shots with different exposure were taken without a tripod. Probably there is a better process to render it. I just simply do not know how-to.

Norry is very well advertised both in guidebooks and at hotels or guesthouses frequented by tourists. It is even included in the top ten experiences highlighted by well-loved Lonely Planet, and was my last experience amongst the ten. An approximate one hour ride can cause you about 15 bucks per lorry if you are a tourist. Khmers will receive some discount, 8 dollars in my case. Since it became a big tourism draw in Battambang, I guess the locals can generate pretty good incomes from the service. If the project to bring back Cambodia train is on tracks, this service will come to an end in a few years from now.

It is faster than I thought. The driver said there are failures sometime. No guarantee.

A Lorry from opposite direction. As an unspoken rule, when two nollies reaches intersection on this single track, the norry with less passengers or loads need to be dismantled and make the way for the heavier one to move on.

We got off at the same place where we started the ride. It is a returned trip.

I find the innocent smile of Cambodian rural kids with their sparkling eyes is not something to be beaten. I seldom fail to see them through my viewfinder whenever I have chance to. Here are two of my favorites from my recent trip to a remote school in Siem Reap.

A board smile from her heart. I did smile too, though not as board as hers, when I saw this photo on my LCD monitor.

A very soft smile when she touched music instrument, recorder, for the first time in her life. Children of developed countries may take music lesson for granted, but it is not the case for kids in Cambodia, especially at school in rural area.

I am not quite sure the river in the photos is Sekong or Sesan river. Here are some more photos from Stung Treng.

I stayed in Stung Treng for five days, but the sky was not favorable enough to grant us a view of neither sunset nor sunrise.

I like the idea that Park Café having tried to renovate the below colonial building, bringing it back to the public. There are plenty more of them that extremely in need of some sort of love and care. Some of them are dying in a couple of year. The more I observed the city, the more abandoned colonial buildings I have found.

Tourists are not allured by the newly-built modern architectures, but something historical and cultural. If the government truly wants to get more tourists to the capital, they should pay more attention on this heritage attraction.

By the way, can anyone tell me why most of the buildings, including school buildings, in Cambodia are painted in yellow?

Thought a bit late, here are some photos from my two-week trip to Japan in July 2009.

Have no idea what it is called in English or Japanese. It is normally found at temple or shire where wishing boards are hung. This is Katuso-ji famous for the red wish Daruma doll (dharma doll) in Mino city, Osaka Prefecture.

The Tower of the Sun（太陽の塔）is an artwork created by Japanese artist Tarō Okamoto. It was known as the symbol of Expo ‘70 and currently is preserved and located in the Expo Commemoration Park in Suita, Osaka, Japan. The tower has three faces on its front and back. (Source: Wikipedia)

Guardian deity of children or Ojizo-sama (お地蔵さま), one of the most loved of all Japanese divinities. In Chōhō-ji temple（頂法寺） in Kyoto city.

Maple tree in summer. Its leaves turn yellow and red in autumn. I have missed autumn for seven years now. Wondering if I will ever have chance to capture its beauty again when they turn red and yellow.
